There are different ways a computer can become infected with spyware, viruses, and other malware. Here are some common ways that may get your computer infected:

1- Accepting installations that you are not sure about it.

2- Opening E-Mail attachments from people you don’t know ” it is recommended to even scan for virus before opening from people you know”

3- Not Getting latest updates fro windows and for your antivirus could put your computer at risk.

4- Not having a real antivirus ” Internet security program will be even better” Could put your computer at risk.

5-Looking to download software and movies from random websites may get you in the wrong place online which could infect your computer.

Finally you you should always pay attention to the URL of the page you are dealing with online before you accept any message, example if you are getting a message telling you that you need to update your adobe flash player, you should look at the URL Make sure you are on adobe website before you click YES!

How to Reset Your Wireless Router

There are a couple of reasons why you may need to reset your wireless router: 1) You used a hard to remember password, forgot it and don’t have the password stored anywhere or 2) It was setup by someone else and you don’t know the password or 3) You want to reset the router due to performance or connectivity issues or 4) You think your router may be compromised and want to reset it to block any unauthorized users.

Note that if you are simply having connection issues, you may not need to reset your router at all, but just need to reboot it. In order to reboot, just unplug the router from the wall, wait about 20 seconds and then plug it back in. It’ll take a minute or two for the router to restart, but most connection issues can be solved by doing this.

Once you reset the router, the password for logging into the web interface and the WiFi password will be reset to their default passwords. Check out my post on how to find the default password for your wireless router.

To delete wireless networks in Windows Vista, go to Control PanelNetwork and Sharing Center, under Tasks click Manage Wireless Networks.

Delete the networks you don’t want to be stored (right click -> Remove Network).

The next time you connect to a wireless network, simply clear the box Save this network, and the details will not be stored.

Desktop :  Make sure you clean your computer from dust every couple months or so,  that will keep all your computer fans have a way to breath and will help preventing your computer from overheating.

Laptop: Do not put the laptop directly on the carpet or on the bed, any of these soft surfaces could block the fans on the bottom of the laptop and will lead to a serious overheat issue,  if you want  to use your laptop on a soft surface then make sure you have other solid surface underneath the laptop as a piece of wood Plastic .. etc…

Malware is a bad programs “Scam” that try to make you believe that your computer is infected with viruses or/and that you have a bad hardware piece in the computer, and ofcourse the only way to get rid of that is to pay them money.
